Cooling lubricants are designed to cool, lubricate, rinse, clean, and are also used to prevent corrosion (e.g., in engines). All of this is indispensable. Equally indispensable, however, is the responsibility to protect people working with KSS in machines at their workplace from their toxicity (hazardous to health!). This is achieved with an oil mist separator, which can also be used for the extraction of sticky and damp dusts. An oil mist separator not only serves human safety but also protects the environment, as emitted cooling lubricants or emulsions cannot enter groundwater.
Furthermore, by returning the separated cooling lubricants or coolants to the cooling lubricant system, special waste is reduced, and disposal costs are saved. This is a benefit that also contributes to sustainability when an oil mist separator is used.
LTA filtration systems are impressive when used as oil mist separators due to their compactness, and they represent a high level of solution expertise when it comes to installing large extraction technology (industrial) with reliable suction power. This in turn is indispensable for production companies that stand up for the safety and health of their employees and meet all legal requirements by also focusing on process exhaust air.
Clean air is worth its price.
Prof. Dr. Andreas Macke, Leibniz Institute for Tropospheric Research (TROPOS)
Two independent institutes, including the renowned ILK Dresden, have tested LTA products and their efficiency and confirmed the functionality of their applications. Due to quality assurance anchored deep within our company, your decision for LTA products, which includes the oil mist separator, gives you a high and consistently finest quality. The safety-related components have been approved by the IBExU. Our oil mist separators have now proven themselves worldwide alongside more than 3,000 machine tools that we have equipped with our technology. And this applies both to the oil mist separators and to the LTA dry separators and all other technologies from our company, such as our mechanical filtration systems for dust and smoke or oil smoke (mechanical filters), which are also available as individual or central extraction systems, or our electrostatic filters. By the way: As a genuine solution partner for the industry, we are of course always at your side with customer-specific solutions and individual advice.
Oil Mist Separator Functionality
Single-Station or Group Extraction: We Adapt to Your Requirements
Workplace Air Quality Should Always Be Prioritized
When using an LTA oil mist separator, a certified separation efficiency of more than 99% can be achieved. In the development of our oil mist separators, we have focused on ensuring that energy consumption is as low as possible to minimize operating costs as much as possible. This results from the flow-optimized design of our oil mist separators and emulsion mist separators. The cooling lubricant mist filters for industry and trade are available with 1- or 2-stage cleaning, depending on the particle load. A distinction is made between a low load with particles ranging from 1 to 10μm and a high particle load in the range of 0.01 to 10μm. Higher tool rotational speeds and higher cooling lubricant pressures in modern machine tools generate higher particle loads in the form of increasingly smaller pollutants. You can read about how dangerous these can be for the health of employees here.
An Oil Mist Separator That Also Takes Hearing into Account
LTA oil mist separators are equipped with pre-filters that are integrated into the housing of the air filters. Optionally, additional mechanical pre- and post-filters can be installed for coarse contamination, smoke, or in an activated carbon version for odor. A special control cabinet allows the electrical components to be installed directly into the control door of the units. For special applications, such as systems with UL-certified components, external control cabinets are used.
Those who care about the respiratory health of their employees should also not disregard their hearing when it comes to purchasing an oil mist separator. That is why we work with a particularly low-noise fan, which also improves working conditions in production.
For an LTA oil mist separator (electrostatic), the input voltage can be chosen as AC or optionally as three-phase current. The filter elements used are universally designed and can be employed in most LTA oil and emulsion mist filters or oil mist separators for industry and trade.
Naturally, we are happy to support you with advice or operationally, as we are also available for the cleaning and maintenance of your LTA filtration systems. You can find out more about our service – not just for oil mist separators – via this link.
