Effective Dust Filtration for Diverse Industrial Processes

The dry separator is the No. 1 technology when it comes to making workplaces safe where processes such as sawing, grinding, polishing, cutting, mixing, decanting, deburring, soldering, welding, laser cutting or cutting are carried out. All of these industrial processes generate dust and, where applicable, smoke, which require mechanical filtration systems for dust. The dust can be

dry or sticky; it can be free-flowing or long-fibred, polluting the air and harming people in the process. LTA’s “mechanical filtration systems for dust” are classic dry separators used both for straightforward industrial applications and for those with increased complexity. If our customers must comply with specific regulations, we support them in using a dry separator or an LTA solid-particle filter—and of course we also provide support if an oil mist separator is chosen.

How does the LTA dry separator (mechanical dust filter) work?

Our mechanical filtration system for dust serves as a dry separator and is the result of a development aimed at a compact extraction system. For this reason, the contaminated air is captured at the extraction openings or with the aid of a suitable capture element, such as a flexible extraction arm, and immediately routed through a ducting system directly to the mechanical filtration system for dust. The contaminated air then flows through the housing, where the decreasing air velocity causes gravimetric separation of the larger particles.

Subsequently, the air flows through the filter chamber with filter bags or filter cartridges, in which contaminations smaller than 1 μm and aerosols are separated. The air reaches the air outlet via the fan chamber. The dry separator has made its contribution to a safe and healthy workplace.
If it is necessary to separate ultrafine dust or various gaseous pollutants or vapor, another filter chamber with appropriately adapted filter elements can be mounted in front of or behind the fan chamber and used.

Once the dry separator has done its “job”, the clean air is finally discharged via the air outlet either into the collection room or via a pipe system to the outside.

For a legally compliant design of your workplaces

LTA dry separators stand out for their robust design and offer a high degree of flexibility, as a variable use of a wide range of filter media and filter elements is possible. However, one of the most important aspects of a filtration system for dust is this: We guarantee you—just as with a wet separator—a consistently high separation performance for sustainable, legally compliant protection of people and the environment, and additional reductions in operating costs through our LTA dry separators.

Those who cherish their health should do everything possible to spend their time in clean air.

Our options for your wishes around the dry separator

If you require a dry separator, this may also mean using a highly customised mechanical dust filter. For this reason, we offer you various options for equipping our mechanical filtration systems for dust. These include the CIP/HCIP automatic cleaning system. This means you can rely on a consistently high separation efficiency and long-term operational reliability. For cleaning the filter elements, we have integrated a pressure pulse into the unit. The MPCIP option equips our mechanical dust filter with an integrated cleaning function with mechanical-pneumatic actuation.

Single-station, group or central extraction?

Indeed an important question: When should the choice fall on a decentralized extraction and when is a central extraction or when is a dry separator the means of choice?
The decentralized extraction in fact allows more flexibility in the use of LTA technology. If the workplace situation changes or if the emission source is not always the same in the same place, a decentralized extraction is indicated. You can rely on the fact that we ensure a simple setup and a barrier-free installation and that the exhaust air ends up where it belongs.

If, on the other hand, the emission source is fixed, then a central extraction is probably the better option in operation. Another prerequisite that speaks for this is the fact that there may already be a pipe system or you may be planning one. Then the central extraction could probably be perfectly integrated at this point. Or – quite simply – the dusts should be extracted directly at fixed workplaces. Last but not least, to be on the safe side. And with the dry separator from LTA, exactly that is possible.
